I am crazy about Antwerp by its diversity of culture, fashion and food. A mix of good shop addresses (vintage and designer stores), delicious lunch tents and restaurants finger-licking.
Bún – Vietnamees
Want an Asian lunch or dinner? Then go to Bún, a cool street food restaurant as you see them little. Bún means bread and soup: that’s what they serve here under more. But there is so much more goodies on the menu including fresh spring rolls with mackerel, tiger prawns and squid.
Bún, Sint-Jorispoort 22, Antwerpen.
The Jane/ Upper Room Bar
A tricky one, but if you have a good planner are definitely worth far in advance to make a reservation. The cooks heroes in the kitchen are led by Sergio Herman and his right hand Nick glasses. The restaurant, in the chapel of a former military hospital, is decorated by Piet Boon. Tel but out of your profit (and your wallet).
The Jane, Site ’t Groen Kwartier, Paradeplein 1, Antwerpen.
For the fish lovers among us is Fiskebar well worth a visit. Do you want to be assured of a place than reservations are required because it is still a popular site. The place has a cool atmosphere and is noisy by the open kitchen and put tables close together. Cozy, but less suitable for an intimate romantic dinner for two.
Fiskebar, Marnixplaats 11, Antwerpen
